I love Perak (besides Penang), particularly Taiping and Ipoh. Why? Because I was born and raised there :D
I love the environment, the climate, the view, THE FOOD...oh dear, I lost 4 kg in a month, but I gained 2kg in a day, just because I stayed at these two heavens!
So, after few months I've been ignoring Ipoh (still ignoring Taiping, hardly), we finally went back. I finally got the chance to eat the famous "mee kicap" that hubby keep on bragging about.
With laksa and "keropok losong" in stomach, hubby, his brother and I went to visit Gunung Lang, one of the newly developed recreational park in the heart of Ipoh. It's being told that this place is worth visit, a green lake that surrounded with limestone.
Fun Fact : Do you know that limestone can only be found in Ipoh, Perak and Halong Bay, Vietnam? I kid you not! (And if I kid, who cares? Hahaha!
It was getting gloomy when we arrived. At first, we just called the day a "site visit", since hubby planned to come back with his 50D.
BUTTTT, I was too happy to come back, when I saw SUPER HUGE catfish and koi in this lake! So i quickly took out my HANDPHONE and snapped, snapped, and snapped! (All pictures were taken using my outdated Sony Ericsson I-Don't-Remember-What-Model.) OMG...those fish are BIG as big as my THIGH!!! I swear, if you fall down, they gonna eat you live! I bet there's a dragon in there as well! Eiiii scary! Hahaha!
Then there was a boat that bring people around the lake, with a fee as cheap as RM3 for adult, and RM1.50 for kid (if I'm not mistaken). But I didn't try la...coz the lake is too small to explore! So the boat came back like in...5 minutes?
We walked to the other side of the terminal where we supposed to see one high and beautiful man-made waterfall. Unfortunately, they didn't turn it on! Hmmm...plus, there wasn't any single monkey as warned.
We just "lepak", and enjoyed the view. So quite and peaceful...no bosses, no servers, no tickets, no users arounddddddah!
Anyway, you guys should come here and experience it on your own...for us, it was a fun short "site visit" that we thought of repeating it...but, other places lah...Pasir Salak maybe? Hahaha!
