Jal Mahal or Water Palace

Remember Jal Mahal, the floating palace that we saw on the way to Amber Fort?
We asked the tuk-tuk driver to stop by the road side for a while, to explore this not-so-popular palace. Without wasting any minute, we quickly hopped down while Chawana stayed in the tuk-tuk with Aqilah.
This palace was actually left un-maintained and uninhabited. I didn’t know why until I read few history facts about it. This palace was surrounded by a man-made dam that used to accumulate water for the people. Anyhow, this lake was contaminated with sewage flow (ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww). Thus people left it alone, unvisited by tourist.Tips : So, watching this place from is darn good idea. Nothing much you can do, except for posing like no one business.
Why? Even the fish died!

And I still didn’t get it. Floating palace?

I let hubby and Chawana’s hubby explored the area, captured anything they want, while I captured them and walked towards the locals whom selling souvenirs along the walkway.
“How can they sit and wait here, for the whole day, under this hot sunny sun???” I wondered.
Lucky they didn’t get mad when we took their pictures. Some did! (Remember the guy who shoved us away?)
We spent only 10 minutes and went back to the tuk-tuk and Chawana told us that this guy started to whine that we should pay more, for he has waited us to see Jal Mahal.
“Oh my godddd…he kept on saying we spent more time lah, need to pay extra fare lah…” Chawana said.

“Then what you said?” I asked.

“I said dunno, dunno, and shoke my head lah! I'm afraid you know...what if he kidnap me...hahaha!” We laughed out loud.

Tips : Don’t care what they say. Pay what you have agreed for. Period.

We hiked the tuk-tuk and headed back to Jaipur town, to get ready for our next train journey to Delhi! Woohoo!
