Gold Coast : Day 1 - Superman Rules!

Ok, let's skip how I got on cab to LRT Bukit Jalil, switched to Monorail Hang Tuah, stopped at KL Sentral, with bags in hand, crossed over to the terminal and made one round just to skip the construction area, rested at MAS area for a while, bought bun and ate it, met Na and her hubby, walked down to the SkyBus depot, waited for Meor who wrongly got hopped onto a different bus, reached LCCT and queued in a super long queue to check-in, got on board in super large Air Asia X that turned to be very small and over-crowded for an eight hours journey, and we FINALLY reached "the land of queen", Queensland.

Once we stepped down from the plane, we snapped few pictures at the tarmat. Looking around, not much different with Jogjakarta's Airport! Outback, simple and ol-skool. Haha! But before we landed, we can see the beautiful seas and beaches and I can't wait to enjoy them! I loike beaches! Right after we passed through the immigration, we straight away went out and waited for our rental car. We agreed to met him at 8am but we touchdown an hour later. While waiting, we looked around and found that we were so different than locals, where they were just wore as minimum as they can, while we were wrapped with sweaters and what not. Hahaha! We thought that it would be cold down here but who knows, it was summer at that time. Just like what we had back home, 25-28 degrees!

We then thought that we have been conned by the car rental service coz we waited for almost an hour, before hubby changed for coins to call them. Then came one BIG and TALL Aussie, with display card in hand, stated hubby's name. Hahaha! He told us that he actually came at 8am but we weren't there, so he went back and planned to come back later. He then picked up one BIG van and took us to town. During this trip to town, we saw GC was not much different to Singapore. Except for their small and cute houses, and English-written signboards made us felt far away from home. Basically, their houses were built with the same grayish brick-shaped, no funny and striking colors, unlike back home which you freely painted your home in blue, green, red, or even orange! Hahaha! The most outstanding thing was the Koala Crossing signboards! We were so excited even there was no Koala crossing the road! Hahaha!

Once we reached the car rental shop, we saw one new Estima that we've ordered (bleargh! You wish!) After a bit of negotiation, we got ourselves a very old Estima Tarago (jaw dropped!) Since the car was quite old, we asked for a cheaper price, as per advertised in the internet. And we got it! So she swiped a bond (around AUD250), recorded down any scratches and dents, then only we dumped in all our bags and went off. The very first driver was as usual, hubby, while second driver was Cawan, Na's hubby. Don't you guys want to know who was the map reader? None other than noted motion-sicker, ME!

With our very own "tour cookbook", along with pamphlets and brochures from the car rental, we headed to MOVIEWORLD! Yeahhhhaaaa! Yup! Why? Owh, yes, we didn't take shower and changed clothes...and the check-in time for our rented apartment was at 2pm! SO YES, WE DIDN'T CARE at that time! So Movieworld, here we comeeee!

We found it quite easy with GC's road coz the directions weren't ridiculous at all. With map in hand and signboards along the way, we can easily spotted Movieworld from far. We just knew which way to go and at the same time, hubby did some homework with google maps and everyone knows that google maps DID give a detail instruction to go to particular places. Left, right, km, everything is in placed. But yeah, the original and actual map that was given by the car rental was better. So from town, we took GC Highway, then turned to Pacific Midway, and straight to Movieworld. Wasn't that easy??? At the same board, we saw Wet & Wild World and this place was just next to the Movieworld. So from the highway, you can actually see that Wet & Wild World, before you can see the Movieworld.

But we had no interest to play with water at all! Movieworld was more into our adrenalin and too many rides that we had to try, the fastest, the spookiest, and what not. We looked up and saw no sun. We were fine with gloomy but please, not rain. Since it was too cloudy that morning, most of our pictures weren't at their best. BUT we still snapped pictures here and there, including the signboards! Hahaha! We didn't want to miss a thing! Then we got in. Na and her hubby bought their entrance ticket online, which was cheaper by AUD2-5. While the rest, queued and got our ticket with AUD69.90 (you can do the math by multiplying to 2.5). So, skip some rides AREN'T a good idea at all, right???

We didn't stop taking pictures from the minute we went in. Crazy! Hahaha! The first thing that we saw was Batwing Spaceshot and Superman Escape, which one was so highhhhhhhhh and one was so fasttttttttttt! We stopped and thought twice. Both were scary but still, we need to try them. So we took pictures with Batman Mobile (the black color) even the place smelled horrible! Not sure why! Hahaha! Then we thought of trying the Batwing Spaceshot but looking at it, it was not much different than Spaceshot at Genting. So we skipped it as we thought it didn't make any different...(yeah right, loser!) So we moved on to Superman Escape!

We saw the highest track and got chickened out! People were screaming hysterically! We decided to try but hubby suddenly told me that he got migraine and didn't want to take the ride. Hahahaha! What a lame excuse! Since I don’t want to miss one of THE FASTEST RIDE in the world, I keep my word. Me, Na, Mona, Cawan, and Meor started to queue. Many kids didn't go through the check point since their height were lower than the supposed-height, but they still tried their best to get passed. And so, it was the time for our turn. There were steel doors at every rows. One door, four persons, two front, two at the back. It was about 20 persons per ride. Once seated, the machine lowered the shoulder bar and tightened the waist bar.

Coaster moving...

Super slow..

Passed by all zig-zag tracks...saw King Kong...subway lockers trembling like earthquake and Manhattan started to caos...patrol cars up side down...subjects ran here and there...and suddenly we heard Superman's voice!

“Don’t worry…I’ll push you right away and………………..fastttttttt!”

ZUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPP!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

OH MY GODDDDDDDDD! FAST LIKE SHITTTTTTTTTTTT! I SWEAR TO GOD IT WAS SUPER FAST! UP SIDE DOWN HERE AND THERE AND SUDDENLY FINISHED! LIKE HUH??? WHERE WAS I JUST NOW???

The ride was actually 100km per hour in 2 seconds!!! OMG! I felt like my heart and lung left behind. Hubby who was outside, waiting to snap our picture, can't even did so! Coz he didn't know where we sat and it was too fast to know where we were and out of a sudden, we already reached the stop. Hahaha! Once we got down, all of us were trembling like hell! All faces went blue and we were speechless! Hahaha! BUT IT WAS HELL OF FUN! With empty stomach, skipped shower (but we did touch up a bit), we went for this ride, we declared this ride as "THE RIDE OF THE DAY"!

Then we started to walk around. We headed to the Kids area a.k.a Warner Bros Kids & Looney Tunes. While walking, we stopped at some places, which among them were Shrek 4D Adventure. Looking at the show time, we were at the right place. So we went in. Such a beautiful place in green color. At the entrance, we were given 4D spectacles each. EXACTLY like what Stevie Wonder is wearing. Hehe! We wore it. The place was huge and dark. Even darker with the 4D specs that we wore which we were not supposed to wear yet. Haha! There was a waiting hall for all audience, where we saw three TVs with three pigs, hanging and dangling on the wall, with Talking Mirror and one big screen. They talked to each other and moved left and right. Cute!

Buttttttt it was too long till everyone got bored! Then only they opened the cinema doors and we got in. There was one big screen and it was dark. They started to play a modified Shrek's movie and it was sooooo beautiful when all things that you watched came into live! Everything was glittering, floating, and you thought you can "touch" them but you can't! So the story was to save Princess Fiona and we found it funny but sad, when she had one carriage in "onion" shaped! Hahaha! As usual, while watching the movie, everything moved along with our seats. The most interesting scene was when Shrek sneezed, where we can feel the water sprinkled to our face! Eeewwww! Hahaha! Then when there was spiders in the movie, we can feel it on our feet! Guess what? We did slap our own feet to make those spiders went away! Hahaha! Once it's finished, with lights on, we saw the sprinkler at the back of the front seats, as well as below our seats. So that was where the secret lied.

We then wanted to try Lethal Weapon but they ride was closed. Looking at the picture, the ride seemed fun as you were seated and hanging. Perghhh! It would be awesome if we can try it! Next to Shrek 4D, there was a Hollywood Stunt Driver. Looking at the screen, it looked fun and there was a new Lancer being featured. So we went in. There was staggered stairs where everyone can sit and see the stunt. There was a big screen in front of us too, for a clearer view. The set was full with buildings and tars, and we can see two cameras shooting at them, exactly like in the making of a movie. There were host, directors, and the whole bunch of production team. Suddenly we went hilarious as we saw Cawan's face in the big screen! Haha!

Out of nowhere, suddenly we heard...

SCREEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT!!! SCREEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT!!!

WOW! ONE BLACK PATROL CAR (POLIZIA) WENT OUT! THEN ANOTHER 2-3 CARS FOLLOWED! COPS CHASING BAD GUY IN RED AND WHITE STRIPED CAR! DRIFTED HERE AND THERE! SPINNING AROUND AND WENT STRAIGHT AWAY INTO PARKING SLOT! EVERYTHING WENT SO FAST! WOW! AMAZING!

During the intersection, there was one clown, who acted as the mechanic cum nephew to the producer. He was actually a bench-warmer who wanted to act and get involved but don't know how to act. So he became the stupid funny guy, who later drove that new lancer AND DID AMAZING STUNT! HAHAHAH! And the patrol car got slashed into two but still running on the track! How did they do that?!

Then there was one scrambler, also one of the bad guy, went onto fire! (The fire started when a police officer shot smeared petrol in front of the petrol station.) Right after shooting scene ended, we saw in the big screen that two patrol cars chasing one bad guy's car IN A BUILDING! (It was recorded but the timing was perfect!) It looked original! And suddenly...

KABBOMMMMMMM!!!

THE RED AND WHITE STRIPED CAR RAMPED ONTO THE WALL, BROKE THE WALL, JUMPED TO THE NEXT BUILDING, RAMPED ONTO ANOTHER WALL, KABBOMMMMMMMM, EXPLOSION!!!
AND WE FELT THE FIRE! WOAAA!

So we concluded, the split patrol car just now, WASN'T the one that drifting since the beginning. As well as the bad guy's car that jumped over, WASN'T the one that running from the police down there before the end of the show. Whatever it was, THIS SHOW RAWKS!

We went out and walked around the Movieworld's souvenir shop. Lots of things being sell there and I was quite contemplating to buy or not to buy it's t-shirt. We then moved on to another part of Movieworld and saw one grave, which we didn't know who was it for. We felt hungry and stopped to discuss. The most "halal" food that we can eat was seafood, and that was Fish and Chips in Batman Restaurant. Lucky we shared, as the portion were enough for two! While eating, we enjoyed some intermission show from Scooby Doo, Marilyn Monroe, and Batman. We just snapped few pictures as that was considered a kid's show (except for Marilyn who sang and being sexy, sat on people's laps, kissing here and there.)

After lunch, we went to Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster. At this point, I felt a bit mad and sad as hubby need to go back to the car to take the camera's batteries! Arghhhh! Why didn't he brought it since beginning! He went out with Meor and the rest, waited there and took pictures in front of the Scooby Doo Castle. Then suddenly I, Na, Mona and Cawan, felt like wanted to try this ride...we asked the operator,

“How’s the ride? Is it fast?” we giggled as this ride was actually for kids.

“Mmm…not as fast as Superman…” she said.

Ok…we went in...dark. We saw few Gargoyles up there, water fountain, and what not. We queued, and not for long, we hopped into the coaster. Once car, four persons. Enough for the four of us. This time, no shoulder bar, just the waist bar. I hold the camera tightly. Same with Cawan. The operator asked us to put our bags next to our feet and hold it. Then it moved...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

LEFT! RIGHT! UP! DOWN! GHOST HERE! GHOST THERE! HAVEN'T REACHED THE GHOST, WE TURNED LEFT! SWINGING AXE! WENT DOWN! TURNED LEFT! TURNED RIGHT! STOPPED!

DARK! WE SAW NOTHING! (Camera still in hand, I hold it tight! I stepped on my bag, to avoid it from thrown away!) At this moment, I started to say prayer. Waiting, what else after this????

OMG! THE COASTER STARTED TO GO UP, SLOWLY! DECK BY DECK. UNTIL WE REACHED THE HIGHEST DECK AND IT STOPPED!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

THE COASTER FELL BACK AND MOVED BACKWARD! OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD! WE SCREAMED OUT LOUD COZ WE CAN'T PREDICT WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT! LEFT! RIGHT! UP! DOWN! SO FAST! AND SUDDENLY IT STOPPED AGAIN!

We waited anxiously and patiently and hoped that it will stopped forever. LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! (I can't recall but I guessed almost 10 rounds of left and right in the shape of "S"!) OMG! I felt like my lung wanted to explode! It continued till we saw the same operator again. Guess what I said to her?

“WE’VE GOT PUNKED! WE’VE GOT PUNKED!” Coz she told us that this ride wasn't fast! She lied! She just laughed and we went out. Hahaha! We met Meor and hubby and asked them to ride it. We even lied to them that this ride was slow and not afraid at all...well, people can smell what you are cooking when you tell something opposite huh? Hahaha! No, they didn't try the ride.

While waiting for the Stars Parade (the most awaited event), we continued our adventure to the Wild West Falls. It was a cowboy town with liquor shop, salon, and etc. We started to play cowboys and cowgals, acted shooting here and there, posed with vultures and what not. Then there was a ride where you sat in a log, felt down from a tunnel, splashing the water to visitors. The water wasn't actually splashed, there was a pipe that sprayed the water. Hahaha! We skipped that since we didn't want to get wet (even we didn't shower). So we just snapped pictures.

After the show ended, we went to the nearest shops. There was Charlie and Chocolate Factory (Willy Wonka choc was there but not the golden ticket, hehe!) We stayed for a while at the place where the Stars Parade should held and I played with one cute but smelly Aussie baby! Hahaha! Then one after another, the Warner Bros characters went out. We stood at the very front lane, just to snap their pictures. BUT HELL NO! THEY WALKED SO FAST LIKE THERE WAS NO TOMORROW! Especiallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy CATWOMAN! She knew that everyone was waiting for her, sexy, big boobs, nice costume, pretty face, with whip in hand, slapped here, slapped there, BUT WALKED SO FAST! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!

Then we saw Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Sylvester, Duffy Duck, Batman, Shrek, Wonder Woman, Robin, Flash, (who else…), Scooby Doo, Archie and Friends, Stunt Drivers…ok fine, wait for them to turn back! HEY! I PAID TO SEE THIS PARADE OK! I WAVED AT THEM BUT THEY DIDN'T NOTICE ME! I WAITED FOR SOOOOO LONG, THIS IS WHAT I GET?! (If there was a complaint form, I will definitely send in!)

Ok that's it! We walked out to the exit gate. Let's go back! But we stopped at Batman Adventre, The Ride 2. We didn't have any idea what it was but we queued. OMG! The place was smelly! The same smell at the Batman Spaceshot just now! Eeeewwww! We waited for quite long and the operator just stood there, did nothing. Huh! WHEN WE CAN GO INNNNN?! Until someone asked her, then only she went inside to check! STUPID! Wasting our time! The earlier slot has ended and she didn't even noticed it?! Then we went in. Again, dark, gloomy, we were in a libary. There was a small window where we can see a full moon out there. I believed we were in the Gotham City now. The operator then came and explained on the ride. (She did two jobs??? No wonder!)

She opened the door and we walked into one big gloomy hall. As expected, the same moving seats. But noooooooot! We sat around, and there was Batman in front of the CCTV monitors (it was a robot), explained to us what he was trying to do to save the city. We had to find something for him. Then the same operator came and opened the door, and asked us to hop into one time capsule. There was a screen, and suddenly the movie started playing.

Suddenly, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

The capsule trembled and moved as per screen scene. We felt down, we flew up, hit here and there, BATMAN DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FLY A JET! HAHAHAHA! WE GOT DIZZY TILL THE END OF THE SHOW!

We walked out and laughed out loud. That was the last ride for the day. We walked straight to the Batman Souvenir shop and bought one fridge magnet as a token to bring back home. We didn't get all our pictures when we rode roller coasters as they were too expensive! AUD15 per piece. Thanks but no thanks.

We went back to the car and we can see that everyone was so tired. We drove to Surfer's Paradise, using the same highway where we came this morning. We looked for Fern Street as there was the Columbia Apartment located. We booked for 5 persons, but there were 6 of us. So what we did, Na and I went in first. There was the owner's daughter in the office. She showed us the apartment, 2 rooms, large settee, kitchen complete with kitchenware and 4 electric stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washer, dryer, dining table for 4, and balcony with sea view! Fantastic! Then she showed us the garage where we can park the car. Security was A+ coz you need a key to open the gate, the lift, and the apartment.

Since basement got lift access, we started to sneak in one by one. Hehe! Easy! We wanted to cook Spaghetti so we asked the girl where we can get sundries, and she told us to go to Pacific Fair. Anyhow we saw Woolworths and just bought things from there. Cheap and affordable! Like our Giant. Since meat wasn't "halal", we bought mushroom. So there you go, Spaghetti with mushroom hehehe! (Who cares!)

We got back and started cooking. Good enough as this apartment gave cutlery and what not. Even toaster was there. Unfortunately we didn't get any bread to be toasted. Hehe! Or else, we would have made scramble eggs with toasted bread! While cooking, some of us took shower. There was only one bathroom, so we have to take turn. We ate in front of TV, watched news, and checked how tomorrow's weather. Then we saw there was a surfing competition at Duranbah! Yeay! We can go tomorrow! After dinner, we talked and discussed about tomorrow. For rooms arrangement, Na, Cawan and Mona, in one room. But Cawan later slept on the couch with Meor since there was an extra bed. While I and hubby slept in the master bedroom. The bed was niceeeeeeeeeeee! Overall, the apartment was great, clean and cheap. Before we called off the night, we talked and enjoyed the Surfer's Paradise wind of change...coollllll...
